Wordless Wednesday: Unconventional Friendship

  1. Precious! I wish our dogs had inter-species friends. I think it could be possible, but they both have such high prey drives that it makes me nervous to ever introduce them to a kitty…

    • Some dogs definitely can’t live with cats. I wasn’t sure how our guys would do – Snoopy has a VERY high prey drive and has caught small animals before but he is fine with cats for some reason. We started off fostering kittens and then a few older cats before we decided we wanted to add a cat of our own. It definitely has to be the right cat – we have had fosters that spent most of their time hiding or hissed at the dogs and did not like them and wouldn’t have been good full time additions here. Legolas thinks he is a dog, I’m pretty sure. Garth actually gets a little too playful with him sometimes and likes to chew on his head a bit and Lego is totally tolerant of it because he is a weirdo. He likes to snuggle with the dogs and us too and basically acts like another dog in the house so he fit in perfectly!

  2. What sweet friends. We can see it in the eyes; even though, we do see that kitty paw raised into whapping position. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
