Kitten season!

We’re fully into kitten season – also known as the late spring/early summer when stray cats are having lots of kittens, and all of those kittens are ending up in shelters. We have litters coming in daily at my shelter and the foster need is higher than ever, so how could we resist fostering some cute babies! These five are about seven weeks old and need to gain some weight so they can be spayed/neutered before they are adopted. They also need to be socialized a bit as they’re pretty shy. We have a pretty good set up in our house for fosters and the kittens have their own room so they can run around and play with each other but not have to deal with the dogs or Legolas (who is not cat friendly).

But what good is this post without pictures… enjoy!

Today I’m participating in the “Thursday Barks and Bytes” blog hop… Check out the hosts at 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog.

  1. They are adorable!! Do you have a catch/spay/release program in your area? I know so many places are adopting that practice and it will really help cut the homeless population down.

Thank you too for joining the blog hop!!
